About Rekha Jena Yadav:
Rekha Jena Yadav,
Guruji’s daughter, resides in Rajasthan with her husband Dilip Kumar
Yadav and
her son Eklavya. Eklavya is undergoing training in Odissi since
2004. He is receiving a scholarship in Odissi from the Centre for
Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT).
Rekha carries on
the tradition of Guru Surendra Nath Jena’s Style of Odissi Dance.
She taught Odissi at the Mayo College Girl’s School, in Ajmer,
Rajasthan.
She has also
learned tabla from Guru Ravi Sharma and Chhau from Guru Acharya
Lingaraj.
She graduated with a
B.A. from the University of Delhi.
Rekha presented
various Odissi lecture-demonstrations and performances, including
dancing at the Sangeet Natak Akademi awards festival in Delhi in
2007.
She performed and
taught in Eketerienburg, Russia in 2005.
In 1987-88 she
worked with BHOOMIKA, Narendra Sharma’s creative dance troupe,
performing in Dehradun,U.P., Roorkee, Haryana, and Delhi.
